Beverly E. Barker, 70, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Signature Healthcare, Galion after an extended illness with her family at her bedside.

She was born in Madison, WV on October 15, 1947 to the late Ernest and Ella (Gore) Barker.
Throughout her life she also resided in Ohio, California, and Texas. She returned to Ohio when her health began to fail but left her heart in Texas.

Beverly was a proud 1965 graduate of Galion High School. She was employed at Holiday Inn in Mansfield. But her favorite job was working at Wells Fargo as an account manager where she personally handled Clark Gable son’s inheritance. She bragged about being a member of the Phi Beta CAPA Sorority. Beverly enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking for others. Beverly up until her death, was always taking classes online to educate herself.

She is survived by her long hair Dachshund named Jimmy, whom she loved very much, more than most people; sister; Linda and Donald Switzer, Galion, brother-in-law, John (Diane) Stumpf; nieces and nephews; Kathi Switzer, Columbus, Kim and Andrew Lauer, Galion, Jim and Ranee Stumpf, Galion and Jeremy and Hope Stumpf, Galion, great nieces and nephews; Rachelle and Matt Husbands, Nicholas Stumpf, Lauren Stumpf, Abby Stumpf, Aiden Stumpf, Andrew Stumpf, Cody Stumpf, Sam Wise and Madison Wise; cousins, Carol Belcher and Harold Gary of West Virginia; long-time friends Sandy Reed and Martha Samford of Texas; and Eric who she met through work and loved as a brother.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters; Della Clevenger and Regina Stumpf, two nephews; Jeffrey Stumpf and David Stumpf.

A Memorial Service and a time to share memories of Beverly will be held on March 3, 2018, at the VFW Post #2920, 110 S. Crestline Street, Crestline, at 12:00 pm.

Beverly spent her last 7 months residing at Signature Healthcare. She considered them her extended family. She wanted to show appreciation for their care, so in lieu of flowers she would like memorial contributions may be made to Signature Healthcare activity fund in care of the funeral home.
