Dorothy B. Varga, age 97, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formally of Crestline, passed away on February 8, 2019 at The Lodge in Loveland, Ohio.
Dorothy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 10, 1921 to Norman Barber and Anna (Hoffman) Barber. Dorothy married Frank Varga on November 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2002.
Dorothy was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, and a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. She was a member of the Sycamore Sr. Center, Cincinnati. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvas, and cross stitch. Dorothy enjoyed volunteer work and in 2007 she was awarded the Betty J. Turner Award at the Bethesda North Hospital for Volunteer of the Year.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Frank and his wife, Rosemary Varga, Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Anna Barber, husband, Frank Varga, sisters, Helen Auck and Betty Pewonski, brothers, Edward Barber, Robert Barber, John Barber and Daniel Barber.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street, Crestline. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Josh Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
Memorial contributions in Dorothy's honor may be made to the Ascension Lutheran Church or the Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
