Florence Reinhard Obituary

Florence K. Reinhard, 90, of Crestline, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Crestline Nursing Center, Crestline.

Florence was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 20, 1928 to the late Matteo and Viola (Fanelli) Anatra. Florence was married in September 1951 to John Schill and he unexpectedly passed in June 1952. She found love again on the campus of Bowling Green State University when she met Norbert L. Reinhard whom she married on September 13, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2009.

Florence was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Crestline. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Altar Rosary Society. Florence was a graduate from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught in the Toledo and Crestline school systems. She was the first lay teacher at St. Joseph School. Florence was also a writer and in 1974 published a children's Christmas story that she wrote called "The Donkey Daniel". Being very devoted to the Church, she addressed over 20,000 letters for a missionary in Pittsburgh to procure church items for the re-opened churches in Poland. She also made over 27,000 rosaries for the missions around the world until her death. Florence briefly worked for the Shelby Air Force Depot in the data processing department.

She is survived by her children, Donna and Mark Dreskler of Mansfield, Lisa Simmons of Mansfield, Joann Palm of Crestline, and Thomas Reinhard and David Russell of Oakland, California; six grandchildren, Natalie and Eric Miller, Diane Dreskler and Shannon Zink, Lucas Palm, Daniel Simmons, Samantha Palm, Jessica Palm; her brothers and sisters, Samuel and Josephine Anatra of Crestline, Victor and Phyllis Anatra of Ontario, Deanna and Lowell Assenheimer of Bucyrus, Bernadette Wilson of St. John's, Florida; sister-in-law, Marcia Anatra of Massillon; brother-in-law, Jerome Dunn of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings, an infant brother, Bartolo, Matthew Anatra, Bartolo Anatra, Alex Anatra, Albert Anatra, and Leo Anatra; her sisters, Frances Abata, Marianna Neumann, and Josephine Dunn.

Friends may call Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Rev. Christopher Bohnsack, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in care of the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Crestline Nursing Home for the excellent care they gave Florence over the last four years and to the OhioHealth Hospice for their care the last week of Florence's life.
