Janet M. Wirick

Janet M. Wirick, 76, of Crestline, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio peacefully after a courageous battle with melanoma.

Janet was born in Ford City, Pennsylvania on April 11, 1942 to the late Paul E. and Julia (Panchik) Hromadik. She married Ralph W. "Bud" Wirick, Jr. on May 9, 1964 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2008.

Janet was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Crestline. She was a very devoted church member and loved to volunteer as often as she was able, especially for all the funeral dinners. Janet attended Clarion University. She was very close to all her neighbors and considered them her family. Every chance she had, Janet loved to go gambling and hit those Slot Machines and loved to just sit around with everyone to socialize. Janet's most pride and joys in her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved them all and there wasn't anything that she wouldn't do for any of them. Janet was the most loving mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was her children and grandchildren's biggest fan when it came to their sporting events or activities. She never missed an event and the opportunity to root her grandchildren on. Janet was the most compassionate, loving person, and had the heart of gold. She will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her children, Lyn Lucius of Westlake, Dori (Tim) Whited of Crestline, Ralph Ward (Lisa) Wirick III of Crestline, Ed (Keri-Ann) Wirick of Crestline; grandchildren, Britney (Josh) McElhatten, Timmy (Shawna) Whited, Briston Lucius, Zach (Rachelle) Wirick, Seth Whited, Gabby (Owen) Roberts, Caid Lucius, Molly Wirick; great-grandchildren, Parker McElhatten, Brantley Wirick, Kenton McElhatten; sister, Marie "Bobbie" Gispanski of Ford City, Pennsylvania; brothers, Ed (Nancy) Hromadik of Ford City, Pennsylvania and John Hromadik of Worthington; nieces and nephews, John (Susan) Gispanski, Joe (Kathy) Gispanski, Paula Emmonds, Michael Hromadik, and Dawn (Hromadik) Aldrich.

In addition to her husband Bud, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joseph "Gish" Gispanski and a sister-in-law, Joan Hromadik

Friends may call Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street, Crestline where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Father Chris Bohnsack, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School in care of the funeral home.
