Mary Ann Newhon, 90, of Crestline, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Mary Ann was born in Crestline, on June 17, 1928 to the late Anatolio A. and Concetta F. (Arcudi) Christini. She married Charles L. Newhon on September 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2018.
Mary Ann grew up in Crestline and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a life-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mary Ann was employed by Ideal Electric as a wireman and worked on stencils at North Electric. She also cleaned homes and St. Peter Church and School in Mansfield. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, especially roses, and raising house plants. Her family gatherings meant the world to her and she loved to keep her family fed by preparing home cooked meals and baking. Summer was her favorite time of the year.
She is survived by her son, Robert C. Newhon, Crestline, her daughter, Jean M. (Terry) Sheets, Mansfield, three grandsons; Michael Henderson, Justin Henderson, and Andrew Henderson, three great-grandsons, Brandon Henderson, Raydon Henderson and Bentley Henderson, brother, Edward (Carol) Christini of Florida, her sister, Patricia Harley, Crestline, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her brothers, Joseph Christini, Vincent Christini, Frances Christini and three infant brothers.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St. Crestline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 331 N. Thoman St., Crestline, at 1:00 PM with Father Austin Ammanniti, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Center, in care of the funeral home.
