Ruth L. (Shimp) Brady

Ruth L. Brady, 95, of Galion, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Signature Healthcare, Galion.

Ruth was born on March 1, 1923 to the late Arthur and Minnie (Aldridge) Shimp.  She married the love of her life Tyco F. Brady on August 17, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2001.

Ruth worked at North Electric ITT for 30 years from 1955-1980. She was a member of the Galion Golden Age Center and also a member of the Salvation Army for 17 years. While she was a young girl she was saved during this time.  Whatever she did, she knew she wanted to work for Jesus. Ruth spent her life providing for her family and church.  She always prayed for everyone she came in contact with.  Ruth loved to sit and relax while listening to her favorite christian music. She attended the Miracle Meeting Church and Diamond Hill Cathedral. She loved working and helping at Biblewalk – it was an honor for her to help. Ruth loved her kitty cats.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Michael) Windbigler of Galion; 5 grandchildren, Playford Fox, Trina Holbert, Angie Wilcox, Lana Allen; 10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great- grandchildren; 2 great-great-great-grandchildren and twins on the way. She is also survived by her longtime family friend and caregiver, Debbie Garverick and longtime prayer partner for many years, Ruby Engler.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Fox; a son, Earl T. Brady; and 2 granddaughters, Susan Fox and Lea Kay Mason; her brothers and sisters, Margaret Shimp, Vernon Shimp, William Shimp, Frances Shimp, Charles Shimp, Frank Shimp, Fred Shimp.

Friends may call Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm and Friday, January 11, 2019 from 10:00 am -11:00 am at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way, North, Galion.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Chuck Carrier officiating.  Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.
