Ruth E. (Gregory) Herzog

Ruth E. Herzog, 79, of Crestline passed away on September 2, 2019 in Galion Community Hospital, Galion, due to complications brought on by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Ruth was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 2, 1940 to the late Elmer T. and Jossie (Bridges) Gregory. She married Ronald E. Herzog on January 17, 1959, and they were married 60 years.

Along with her husband, Ruth moved to Crestline in 1960. She was employed by Fleetwood Trailers during the 1970’s. She then worked 11 years for Food Town in Crestline until in closed. Afterwards she worked for a short time at Dollar General. Ruth enjoyed gambling and playing Yahtzee and bingo. She loved to bake.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Richard Herzog; her daughter, Tina Herzog, two grandchildren, Cody and Sara; three great-grandchildren, four brothers, Chuck, Russell, Dale and John, two sisters, Peggy and Judy and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Jim.

Friends may call on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heritage Health Care- Mansfield in care of the funeral home.
