Alan Ray Swim

Alan Ray Swim, 74 of Galion, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Ohio Health in Mansfield.

Alan was born on October 6, 1948, in Galion, Ohio to the late Harlan and Barbara (Staats) Swim.

Alan married Maxine McCown on June 30, 1966, and she preceded him in death on August 4, 2012.

Alan was a big fan of dirt track racing. In his younger years, Alan participated in races and later in life he loved watching the races, especially if his son was competing. He was also quite the karaoke singer. Alan enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing.

Alan is survived by his children; Todd (Shelly) Swim of Galion and Angie (Ray) Adkins of Galion; grandchildren; Brandon Swim, Jordan Swim, Robbie Harrod and Dalton Livermore and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Alan is preceded in death by his twin brother, Ryan Swim and his sister, Sherri Price.

Friends may call on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion from 1:30pm until the time of service at 2:30pm. Pastor Duane Ivy will be officiating the service and burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
