Anis Oneta (Armstrong) Leiss

Anis Oneta Leiss, 99, born on February 15, 1925, in Middlepoint, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Crestline Rehabilitation & Nursing Home. She was the tenth of twelve siblings and was the last surviving member of the Armstrong family. Anis leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be cherished.

Anis was a proud member of Eastern Star-Harmony Chapter 43, where she served as Grand Page, and was an active participant in the OES Chorus at Calvary United Church of Christ. Her commitment to community involvement extended to organizations such as VFW Post 2920, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, and the Moose Lodge. Known for her generous spirit, Anis volunteered for "Make a Wish" and participated in various charitable activities within her community.

In addition to her professional and community contributions, Anis found joy in various hobbies and activities. She enjoyed teaching cooking classes, crafting homemade candies at Easter, and engaging in lively games of Bingo and cards. Anis's zest for life was evident in everything she pursued, bringing light and laughter to those around her.

Anis will be deeply missed by her daughter-in-law Janet Leiss of Crestline, her two cherished grandchildren Tracy (Dan) Baker of Perrysville and Dawn Michelle of Toledo, and three great-grandchildren; Jonathan "Jon" Baker, Shannan Baker, and Johann "Joey" Leiss.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anis is preceded in death by her eleven siblings, and her only son, Robert "Bobby" Leiss.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1119 State Route 181, County Line Road, Crestline on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Eastern Star Services followed by Pastor Jeff Mills officiating.
