Barbara Buckman Obituary

Barbara Ann Buckman, 75, of Galion, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Avita Health System – Galion Hospital with her family by her side.

Barbara was born on June 3, 1949, in Mt. Vernon to the late Fred and Elsie (Hoover) Rowley. She would marry John Buckman on December 17, 2001, and he would proceed her in death on October 19, 2014.

Barbara found joy in hosting game nights, where laughter and friendly competition filled the room. She had a special place in her heart for board games, always eager to teach new games and enjoy quality time with family and friends. Outdoors, Barbara found peace in tending to her garden and flower beds, nurturing them with care and dedication. Her love for nature was evident in her beautiful blooms and lush greenery.

In addition to her love of nature, Barbara enjoyed camping trips that allowed her to connect with the outdoors, and crocheting, a craft that brought her both joy and a way to create lasting gifts for others. But above all, Barbara's greatest love was her family. Her unwavering devotion to her loved ones was evident in everything she did, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara’s memories will forever be cherished by her children: Amanda (Ralph) Westerfield, Lesia Butterfield, Tammy (Randy) Grove, and Robert Mahaffey; sister: Jen Rowley; numerous grandchildren, including: Chelsie Steele, Dameon Steele, Bobby Mahaffey, Sandra Mahaffey, Trayvon Westerfield, Jeanne Smith, Billy Westerfield, and Christina Dawson; and numerous great-grandchildren: Annalynn Horsley, Kennedy Butterfield, Lucas Smith, Hayden Smith, Malaki Steele, Rexton Goodsite, Jessa Dawson, and Leiland Dawson.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by: Sandra Mahaffey, Martha Rowley, Marjorie Koge, John Rowley, Charlie Rowley, and biological father; Harold Brockway.
