Bonnie Darlene Kleinknecht, 80, of Galion, passed away Monday, August 23rd at Mill Creek following a brief illness.
Bonnie was born April 18, 1941 in Flat Lick, Kentucky to the late Enos and Victoria Johnson.
In April, Bonnie and husband Merl F. Kleinknecht, celebrated 60 years of marriage.
She was employed at the Northern Ohio Telephone Company, North Electric, PECO II and retired after 21 years of service at First Federal Savings and Loan where she was the supervisor of tellers for many years.
Bonnie is survived by Merl, sons Jon (Jean) of Galion, and Derek (Kay Mc Naul) of Mansfield; grandchildren David (Shannon), Brian, Matthew, Jeanessa (Yogev) Zipori, Evan and Justin; great-granddaughters Haylee, Zoey, Cailin, Madison, Mayah and Carsyn; brother Charles Johnson and sister-in-law Karen; sister Glenna Ross and brother-in-law Roy, and miniature schnauzer Leopold.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Cheasel and Oleen, as well as sisters Launna and Doris.
Bonnie loved collecting angel figurines and enjoyed trips to Kingwood Center with Merl. Together, they traveled to Egypt, England, Hawaii and the Mayan ruins in Belize. She was an avid reader who found solace in the written word. She was a shining example of love and support, who shared her beautiful smile freely with others.
A Celebration of Life service will be held September 25th from 2-4 p.m. at Wesley Chapel, 240 S. Market St. in Galion.
