Brian Gail Newell

Brian Gail Newell, 63, of Galion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.

Brian was born on April 29, 1959 to Gene and Rita Newell. He attended St. Joseph's Elementary and parish. He graduated from Galion High School in 1977. After graduation from high school, Brian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Brian returned home to work with his father at Newell Equipment. He served as the company's vice president until its closing in 2009.

Brian loved to play golf and tennis. He was a member of the Galion Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling to warm, sunny beaches and driving cool cars.

Brian is survived by his parents, Gene and Rita Newell; his sister, Mira (Jeff) Zeisler; two nieces, Rachel and Addie Zeisler, one nephew, Eric (Emily) Zeisler; a great nephew, Harry Zeisler and a great niece, Hazel Zeisler.
 

Friends may call Monday, January 2nd, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio 44833. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 2nd at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion with Father Paul Fahrbach, Celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion, Ohio.
