Carol Marie (Pickering) Arter

Carol Marie Arter, 92, of Crestline, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at her residence in Crestline.

Carol was born in Breman, OH on September 4, 1929, to the late Elijah and Jessie (Nichols) Pickering. She married Thomas Arter on April 22, 1950, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2007.

Carol graduated from Galion High School, Class of 1947. She was employed by Fisher Brothers GCS in Galion as a Personnel Manager. Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crestline where she served as Treasurer for many years. She also attended many of the functions held there. Carol enjoyed baking, watching tennis matches and cheering on The Ohio State University Buckeye football team.

Carol is survived by her children; Tom Arter, father of Dawn and Matt Arter, Crestline; Dan Arter, Southern California; Kathi Arter, Southern California; David (Sue Ann Bolley) Arter, Crestline; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her sister, Genevieve Tyree, Galion.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol is preceded in death by her brother, John Pickering, and three sisters, Connie Saum, Sandie Baker, and Marilyn Pickering.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline.
