Carol Ann Gekler, 77, of Crestline, formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at her home.

Carol was born in Marion on October 23, 1948, to the late Virgil and Wilma (Oldaker) Mohler. She was a graduate of Marion Harding High School. Carol then dedicated 47 years to hospitality management for Ohio Health before her retirement. Carol married Ronald Gekler on August 5, 2002, and he survives her.

A proud life member of VFW Post 2920 in Crestline, Carol was also a committed member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, and the American Legion Scarborough Post 243 in Galion.

In her free time, Carol found joy in arts and crafts, expressing her creativity through painting, drawing, and scrapbooking. She cherished the moments spent fishing at Lake Erie, often sharing these adventures with her beloved family. Carol was a devoted grandmother who never missed an event, proudly supporting her grandchildren in all their endeavors. Known for her warm heart and friendly nature, she never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her life with open arms.

A passionate sports fan, Carol enthusiastically followed her favorite teams, cheering for the Cleveland Browns, the Guardians, and Ohio State football. She also adored her two dogs, Charlie and Marshmallow, who brought her endless joy.

In addition to her loving husband, Carol is survived by her daughter, Mindy (Kevin) Sipes of Crestline; her grandchildren, Tyler (Madison) Sipes, Alec Sipes and Kennedi Sipes; great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Remington "Remy" Sipes; and her nephew, Charlie McCoy.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Scott Gekler and her stepsister, Betty.
