Celestine E. Stewart, 96 of Crestline passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Magnolia Terrace of Galion. Celestine was born on October 5, 1924 in Grover Hill, Ohio to the late Ronald and Okle (Gelker) Saum.
Her first husband was the late Leo Blubaugh. She married her second husband, Gale Stewart on November 27, 1960. He passed away on July 24, 2001.
Celestine was a graduate of Crestline High School, Class of 1942. In Celestine's life, she was a member of many different organizations, including the VFW Post #2920, the American Legion #181, the Bucyrus and Galion Women Republican Club, Bucyrus Chapter AARP and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859. She was employed at the Bucyrus Timken Plant for almost 20 years. For 13 years, Celestine managed 84 units of the Cortland Courts apartments in Courtland, Ohio. She attended St. Marks Episcopal Church of Shelby most of her life. Being the devoted republican she was, Celestine was president of many republican organizations in Crawford and Trumbull county throughout her life. In her earlier years, Celestine enjoyed camping at Dogwood Campground with her family.
Left to cherish Celestine's memories are her children; Donald (Ruth Ann) Blubaugh of Crestline, Michael (Debbie) Blubaugh of Galion, Richard (Charlene) Blubaugh of Colorado Springs, CO., Carol (Lowell) Schwankl of Henderson, NV.; step-children; Larry Stewart and Sheryl Stewart, both of Fort Myers, FL.; siblings; Ronald Saum of Courtland, Bonnie Kemle of Galion; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Celestine is preceded in death by her siblings, Permelia Bower and twin sister Maudine Hunt.
A burial will take place at Crawford County Memory Gardens at a later date.
