Charles “Butch” Harold Danner, Jr., 83, of Galion, passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2024, at Bucyrus Avita Hospital, surrounded by his family. Butch was born to the parents of Charles and Rosella Danner, Sr. on October 6, 1940.
Butch proudly served in the United States Army for four years and then went in the United States National Guard for an additional six years. After his service, he pursued his passion for welding and became a self-employed welder, where his craftsmanship and dedication never went unnoticed. Butch had a knack for tinkering with things, always finding joy in the process of creating and fixing.
Fishing was a true love of his, and he would often cook up a feast for his family and friends at fish fry gatherings. Butch cherished the moments spent by the water, surrounded by the ones he held dear and the thrill of reeling in the big catch.
In his later years, Butch owned a business specializing in sharpening chains, demonstrating his commitment to hard work and precision even in his hobbies. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Bell, who was a faithful companion by his side through thick and thin.
Butch will forever be remembered by his daughter; Sherry (Larry) Weimer, son; Tim (Tammy) Danner, grandchildren Richard (Paige) Ulmer, Cody Ulmer, Zachary Danner, Melissa Danner, and great-grandchildren Bradley Danner, Bodhi Ulmer, Nila Ulmer, and Wren Ulmer, and special friend Becky Wells.
Along with his parents, Butch was preceded in death by wife; Carol Danner, child; Richard Danner, and sisters; Judy, Dina, and Marlene.
A Graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00AM at Iberia Cemetery with niece, Pastor Christine Burns officiating and where full military honors will be rendered.
