Christopher N. Baker, age 36, of Huron and a former Galion resident died unexpectedly Friday April 23, 2021 in the Firelands Hospital in Sandusky. He was born in Galion to Ronald L. Baker of Galion and Jennifer Kleinknecht-Baker of Westerville.
Christopher was a 2003 graduate of Ontario High School. He then received his B.S. in Business Administration and his Masters Degree in Finance from Ashland University. During both his high school and college years he played football and competed in track and field events. Christopher was employed by UBS Financial Services Inc. as a Financial Planner and taught Financial Management Classes. He was an active member with Team Focus and a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sister. Chris was a fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and the OSU Buckeyes football teams. He enjoyed boating, fishing, all vacations and "hanging" with his friends. Christopher's most cherished times were spent with family and spoiling his niece, Myla Dials and nephew, MJ Dials.
In addition to his Mother Jennifer and Father Ronnie, Christopher is survived by his sister, Brieann (Michael Dials) Baker and Brother, Alex Baker of Columbus; cousin/brother, Bill (Loren) Marino; Grandfathers, Joe Kleinknecht and Ronald Baker I.; Aunt and Uncles, Lynn (Dennis) Sterling, Mike (Katie) Kleinknecht, Steve Kleinknecht, Tim Kleinknecht and Sherry Diaz.
Christopher was preceded in death by both of his Grandmothers; Judith Kleinknecht and Sandra Baker.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North in Galion. The service will immediately follow with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating.
