Clarence Edwin Ross, 85, of Galion passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Avita Health System - Galion Hospital.
Clarence was born in Lexington, Ohio on December 4, 1935, to the late George E. and Verna (Bachelder) Ross. He married Shirley Stacy on August 17, 1957 and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2008.
Clarence worked on the family farm all his life but also worked in quality control at Ideal Electric and retired in 1998. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1953. He went onto Milligan College in Tennessee and received his Bachelors in Theology. Clarence had a great passion for farming and being on the land. He was an Elder at the Galion Community Christian Church. Clarence was the Eastern Deputy Chaplain for Clan Ross USA. He was the pastor/minister of several churches up until 1972. He was a 32nd Degree Freemason. Clarence cherished is friends and family but mostly adored all his grandchildren.
Clarence is survived by daughters, Cheryl (David Webb) Clark of Marion, Elizabeth (Don Taylor) Ross of Mansfield, Naomi Ross of Galion; grandchildren, Cassandra Holderness, Ashiley Holmes, Chad Ross, William Ross, Thomas Ross; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Ray (Martha) Ross of Rootstown; numerous nieces and nephews, including Michael (Laurie) Tester of Clearwater, Florida; sisters-in-law, Nancy Ross of Logan, Myrna Roth of Federalsburg, Maryland, Anna Ruth Tester of Clearwater, Florida.
In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Ross, Lowell Ross, and George P. Ross.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 10:00 am - 11:00 pm at Galion Community Christian Church, 6195 State Route 19. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Galion Community Christian Church with Dr. Dan Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington.
