David Lee Lambert, 91, of Galion passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Woodside Village Nursing Home in Mount Gilead, Ohio.
David was born in Mansfield, Ohio on September 1, 1930 to the late Henry L. and Deletha E. (Haffa) Lambert.
David worked and retired from Hercules/Peabody where he was a welder for 35 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 where he was stationed in Japan as an MP, also was artillery in Korea where he drove a half track. David enjoyed going to listen to his brother-in-law Jim, playing the banjo and was always the first one at the show to get a front row seat. He loved being in the outdoors riding his Harley with Larry and Roy, as well as camping, fishing, and boating at Clearfork. David loved to listen to country music. He was a dedicated mason reaching the 32nd Degree. David was a member of the VFW Post 2920, Crestline for 62 years. He loved being around people and was always friendly. You never seen David without a smile on his face.
David is survived by son, David "Butch" Lambert; daughter Cheryl Dye; close friend Jerry Carrington; sisters, Connie (Jim) Blackstone of Ontario, Bonnie Campbell of Crestline; brother, Larry (Darlene) Lambert of Marion; and brother-in-law Roy Cox of Crestline.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Deletha Lambert, sisters, Marjorie Heinberberger and Linda Kephart, brothers, Jerry Lambert, Terry Lambert, and Clint Lambert.
Friends may call on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, Ohio with celebrant, LeAnne Gompf officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery .
