Debra Sue Owens-Phelps, 70, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at her residence. Debra was born in Mansfield to the late Violet (Fife) Umfleet on August 17, 1955.
Debra cherished her family deeply, with a special affection for her "littles". An avid outdoors lover, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. Her time spent in nature was a testament to her adventurous spirit and was often an opportunity for her family to bond. Additionally, Debra enjoyed thrifting and loved trips to Goodwill in search of hidden treasures. She had a knack for couponing and loved to help others through her volunteer work, always seeking ways to give back to her community.
Left to cherish Debra's memories are her children, Phillip (Jodi) Phelps of Shelby, Tonya (Rodney) Branam of Galion, Melissa Rodriguez-Torres of Amelia and Mandy of TN; grandchildren, Carol (Branam) Staats, Kyle Branam, Makayla Mains, Travis Macken, Athena Puckett, Matthew Phelps, Austin Phelps, Victoria Herzner, Tyler Phelps, Aiyana, Ace, Cholena, Drake, Allidy, Daryon, Bryec, Amari, Anaiya, and Armani, numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul (Paula) Owens of Mansfield, Brenda of Sparta KY, and Lori Adkins of Wooster.
Along with Debra's mother, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Adams and Virgil Hivley, and a grandchild, Jeremy Kennith Mains.
