Delmis Lewis Obituary

Delmis B. Lewis, 78, of Huron passed away on August 13, 2020, at Life Care Hospice in Wooster, Ohio after a year-long battle with cancer.

Del was born in Morehead, Kentucky on March 11, 1942, to the late Bernard E. Lewis and Bertha (Fultz) Griffin. He married Mary E. (Jeffers) Lewis on October 8, 1991, and she survives him.

Del worked at HS Automotive as a Shop Supervisor and retired in 2000. He loved being on the water at Lake Erie walleye fishing. Del enjoyed being in the outdoors mushroom hunting, going to flea markets and camping at the Huron River Valley Campground. He was a huge sports fan and cheered on his favorite teams as the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Steelers, and The Ohio State Football. Del was a family man, and he loved his family more than anything.

In addition to his wife, Del is survived by his children, Rick (Marla) Lewis of Owingsville, Kentucky, Dixie (Tim Martin) Black of Owingsville, Kentucky, daughter Jackie (John) Cole of Bucyrus, Michelle Bolles of Ontario, Lisa David of Mansfield, Lee (Beth) Crissman of North Carolina, Bill (Terri) Crissman of Mansfield; his siblings, James (Joyce) Lewis of Galion, Lester (Kathy) Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky, Mike (Peggy) Lewis of Galion, Stella (Benny) Barricks of Indiana, Doug "Chuck" (June) Lewis of Arizona, Aileen (Roy) Calton of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Rick Jr. (Megan) Lewis, Dalton Lewis, Brittnay Taylor, Terry Taylor, John (Lisa) Cole, Kim (Lucas) Cole, Alicia (Josh) Miller, Abigail (Dustin) Bailey, Amy (Chuck) Prince, Abby Martin, Corey (Aubrey) David, Brock (Gabby) David, Dakota (Amanda) David, Montana (Amanda) David, Megan (Tyler) Crissman, Candice (Christian) Griffith; and several great-grandchildren. Del is also survived by David Bolles, whom he considered a son; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Del was preceded in death by siblings, Lacey Lewis and Carol Boyd.

A celebration of life will be held at the Huron River Valley Campground at a later date.
