Emma J Hatfield

February 8, 1934 ~ December 31, 2021 (age 87)


Emma Jeanne "Dolly" Hatfield beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2021 at home with her husband by her side and her home filled with family.

Dolly was born on February 8, 1934 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Otto and Stella (Flynn) Linn. She graduated from Crestline High School, Class of 1951. Dolly married Richard Harold Hatfield on April 30, 1955 and he survives. They were blessed with a wonderful 66 years together.

Left to cherish her memory are her 11 children, Rebecca (Mark) Rita, David (Cindi) Hatfield, Julie Neale (Stu Johns), Jeffrey (Kim) Hatfield, John (Tammy) Hatfield, Thomas ( Kristy) Hatfield, Todd (Kathy) Hatfield, Jeannie (Brian) Sunnucks, Aaron Hatfield, Gretchen (Joseph) Dzugan and Nathan (Sarah) Hatfield; sisters Mary Briner and Margaret (Mo) Gatchall, sisters-in-law Dorrie Linn, Linda Linn, Joan Ramey; 32 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dolly loved her family and each new baby was a blessing. She enjoyed family gatherings, birthday parties, ball games and hosting Sunday Brunch after Mass.

Dolly was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a dedicated lector, communion distributor to the shut-ins, CCD teacher. Dolly and fellow church members helped organize the first funeral dinners and the annual Rosary Rally. She lived a life of service to others being a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Crestline Mother's Club and Crawford County Right to Life. Dolly volunteered for 30 years with her friend Charlotte Bailey playing Bingo and visiting the residents of the Crestline Nursing Home. Dick and Dolly spent many years together delivering Meals on Wheels, groceries for the Crestline Assistance & Ministries Program and volunteering each year for Community Christmas.

In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Linn, Richard Linn, James Linn, Dorothy Yochem, Thomas Linn, William Linn, Lawrence Linn and Nancy Jageman as well as beloved granddaughter Jaclyn Ronk.

A private Mass will be held at a later date for family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph School, Crestline Ohio or Crawford County Right to Life.
