James M. Frank, 94, of Crestline, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at Crestline Nursing Center, Crestline.

Jim was born in Crestline, on September 2, 1924 to the late Charles W. and Priscilla Mae (Fichter) Frank. He married Nell B. (Hollowell) Frank on September 17, 1947 and they shared 70 wonderful years together. Nell preceded him in death on June 6, 2018 and they are now reunited again in heaven.

Jim was one of the last surviving graduates of Crestline High School, Class of 1942. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon. Jim was very patriotic and flew his American flag every day on his boyhood flag pole. He retired from Pennsylvania Railroad after 36 years of service. He was a member of the former First English Lutheran Church, now Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. Jim was a prolific card writer, including get well, sympathy, birthday and anniversary cards. Nell and Jim enjoyed many car trips and were always recognized by their unique Ohio license plate - WW1313.

He is survived by his son, Bill Frank, Crestline and his daughter, Kathy McCall, Bucyrus.

In addition to his wife Nell, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nellie Hill, Dorthea Gates, Mildred Williams, Ruby McCaffrey, Thelma Graham, and Maxine Danals; his brother, Charles Frank; and his son-in-law, Richard McCall.

Friends may call Friday, November 2, 2018, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 N. Thoman St., Crestline. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline where full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the Galion Crestline Veteran’s Military Funeral Detail.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
