James West, Jr. Obituary

James Walter West, Jr., 72, of Lexington passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020, at Mill Creek Nursing Home in Galion.

Jim was born in Mansfield, Ohio on August 30, 1948, to the late James W. West Sr. and Kathryn M. (Tobergte) West. He married Vickie B. Miller-West on November 20, 1992, and she survives.

Jim worked at National Material as a crane operator where he retired after 25 years of service. Prior to his long tenure as a crane operator, he worked as a delivery driver for Little Debbie Cookie Company and was known to many as "The Cookie Man". Jim served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps. He loved going fishing with the grandkids, whom was his pride and joy. All of his family but especially his grandchildren meant the world to him. Jim was very much a family man and always wanted to be together as often as time allowed. He was a former member of the VFW Post and Amvets Post 26, Mansfield. Jim loved to go golfing and was an avid bowler. He was a faithful Cleveland Browns Football Fan and never missed a game.

In addition to his wife, Vickie Miller, Jim is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Lawrence) Phillips of Edison, Joanne (Timothy) Potter of Galion and Tracy (Robert) Southworth of Mansfield, Massachusetts; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Janice Sealy of Mansfield, and Linda (Mark) Hager of Mansfield; and his brother, John (Rita) West of Mansfield.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Anne Miller.
