James “Greek” Robert Yetter, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2020 at his home in Crestline, Ohio.
Jim was born in Crestline on March 18, 1946 to the late Harry and Teresa (Arcudi) Yetter. He married Vicki A. (Gehrisch) Yetter on June 22, 1974, and she survives him.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis at Guantanamo Bay. He worked at General Motors in Ontario for thirty-one years, retiring in 2008. He also worked at Peabody Corporation in Galion. Jim attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing with Erich, spending time with the grandkids, and watching Andy and his grandchildren play sports.
In addition to his wife Vicki, Jim is survived by his children, Erich Yetter, Crestline; Andy (Kati) Yetter, Crestline; his grandchildren, Drew Yetter, Dane Yetter, Macy Yetter; his sister, Mary Lakey, Idaho, and a special niece, Erika (Kevin) Duresky, Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jack Yetter, Larry Yetter, Jerry Yetter, and his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Joan Gehrisch, and niece, Angela Carroll.
Friends may call on Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 North Thoman St., Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
In accordance with the Governor's mandate, masks will now be required to enter the funeral home.
