James "Jim" Roger Lewis, 81, of Galion, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home with his loving wife by his side.
Jim was born on October 23, 1943, to the late Bernard and Bertha (Fultz) Lewis. Jim married the love of his life, Joyce (Prosser) Lewis on November 24, 1970, they spent 55 wonderful years together. Joyce survives in Galion.
Jim dedicated 33 remarkable years to A&G Manufacturing, where he rose to the position of plant manager. His co-workers respected him not just for his expertise, but for the genuine kindness and soft-hearted nature he showed to those around him.
Outside of work, Jim was a man who loved life-especially the great outdoors. With a fishing rod in hand, he often found himself at Lake Erie, casting lines for the perfect Walleye. In the winter, he traded his fishing gear for a snowmobile, embracing the chilly season with exhilarating rides, and in his younger days, he could often be found on deer hunts, enjoying every moment in nature.
A lover of adventure, Jim cherished his Harley Davidson, turning each ride into a delightful escape to soak in the scenery. He also enjoyed collecting coins and knives, with a keen eye for unique treasures that he would proudly showcase. His backyard was a little slice of nature's paradise, where he relished watching the deer and other creatures, showing his soft-hearted spirit for animals.
In addition to his beloved wife, Joyce, Jim's memories will be cherished by his children: Bernetta (Lee) Pederson of Charlotte, NC., Lisa Barker of KY., Andy (Cheryl) Pursley of Rocky River, Eric (Terri) Lewis of Galion, and Brandi Lewis of Galion; his siblings: Lester (Kathy) Lewis of Morehead, KY., Charles (June) Lewis of Surprise, AZ., Donald Lewis of Indiana, Mike (Peggy) Lewis of Crestline, Stella Barricks of Indiana, and Aileen (Roy) Calton of Morehead, KY.; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
