Janice M. Horning, age 83 of Crestline, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 28. 1938 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Frank and Gertrude (Wurm) Niedermier.
On October 9, 1965 Janice married the love of her life, James "Jim" Horning, and he survives her.
Janice was a 1956 graduate of New Washington High School. She thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their three children. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline and had many interests. Janice was a marathon runner, enjoyed bicycling, walking, working on jigsaw puzzles, an avid reader and loved big "get togethers" while sharing her famous pie crusts. Janice loved her entire family and displayed this through her photography.
In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by two daughters Jill (Bruce) Mower of Arizona, Jenny (Gary) Engler of Crestline and a son Josh (Amy) Horning of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 5 grandchildren Ryan Horning, Gwen Horning, Maura Horning, Tyler Davis and Brett Davis.
Janice was preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother, Freda Coder, Carol Kimmet, Marilyn Herman, Joan Heydinger and Kenneth Niedermier.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 331 N. Thoman St., Crestline, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jeff Smith, Celebrant. Graveside services will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, followed by a luncheon served at the St. Joseph Catholic Convocation Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Crestline Public Library.
