Jean Ann (Jarvis) Gardner

Jean Ann Gardner, 72, of Galion passed away at her residence on December 4, 2022.

Jean was born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 12, 1950 to the late Russell J. Jarvis and Lucille M. (Dailey) Jarvis. She married Charles Gardner Jr. on August 4, 1972 and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2014.

Jean graduated from Madison High School in 1968. She spent her entire life as a homemaker where she took great pride in staying at home and raising her children. Jean enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren and they were the most important thing in her life. Jean enjoyed fishing and sitting on "her bench" at Lake Charles (the family lake in Marengo). She was very talented in quilting and crocheting and was often making memorable items for all the family. When visiting Jean, you would often find her enjoying her diamond painting.

Jean is survived by 3 sons, Michael (Tammy) Smith of Galion, Edward (Brande) Smith of Marengo, Eric Gardner and Nicole Maynor of Shallotte, North Carolina; brother, Jimmy (Marilyn) Jarvis of League City, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, David Jarvis, Mary Jarvis, Raymond Jarvis.

Friends may call on Friday, December 09, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at First Lutheran Church of Galion, 127 S. Columbus Street. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at First Lutheran Church of Galion, Ohio with Vicar Shawn Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
