Jerry Wayne Tallentire

Jerry W. Tallentire, 88, of Galion, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Jerry was born on March 7, 1934 in Mansfield to the late Russell and Marietta (Jackson) Tallentire. On March 6, 1954, Jerry married Carol Theresa Stevens who preceded him in death on October 17, 2016.

Jerry was a graduate of Madison High School. He was employed by Westinghouse prior to joining General Motors in 1963 until his retirement in 1996. Jerry enjoyed 26 years of retirement. He was an avid golfer and a 7-time Club Champion at Valley View Golf Course. When he wasn't on the fairways, you could always find him with a rod and reel in his hand and a smile on his face but one of the most pleasing times were with his family, whom he treasured.

Jerry is survived by his children; Danita (Terry) Holbrook, Galion, Timothy (Susan) Tallentire, Newark, Pamela (Brian) Little, Galion, and Jerry S. Tallentire, Galion; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and sister in-law Kathy Parish, Newnan, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his sister; Andrea Watkins and grandson; Nathan Roston.

Friends may call on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Chris Burns officiating, at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. A private ceremony will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
