JoAnn Elizabeth (Brown) Combs

JoAnn Elizabeth (Brown) Combs, 73, of Crestline, was reunited again with the love of her life, her husband Bob, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

JoAnn was born in Marion on February 24, 1951, to Donald and Helen (Newhouse) Brown. She graduated from Colonel Crawford High School, Class of 1969. JoAnn married Robert "Bob" Combs on July 28, 1978, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2014. JoAnn and Bob's love was one for the history books, always living by their phrase "forever and a day."

JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. One of JoAnn and Bob's favorite songs was "Keeper of the Stars," whenever they heard it, she would grab Bob's hand and share a dance, no matter where they were. A favorite thing they did together was stop by Paul's Drive-In in Shelby for a coney dog and a shake. They enjoyed traveling, and in recent years, JoAnn enjoyed many trips to Lake Erie with her dear friend Sallie.

Left to cherish JoAnn's memories are her children: Tonya (Bob) Geiger of Bucyrus, Renée (David) Dodge of Springfield, MO, Donald (Jennifer) Combs of Elyria, Jenny Combs of Colorado; her eleven grandchildren: Ashley (Josh Smith) Geiger, Kaitlyn Geiger, Andrew Geiger, Tanner Roberts, Alexa Roberts, Jennavieve Combs, Zoey Combs, Robert Combs, Harlee Combs, Blane Combs, Rayleene Sebastiani; two great-grandchildren: Brecken Geiger, Xavier Combs; her sister: Pauline Goldstein of Bucyrus; her dear friend: Sallie Perry, who was more of a sister to JoAnn, and her feline friends: J.J. and Bella.
