Joan (Scheiber) Gehrisch

Joan Gehrisch, age 94 of Crestline, passed away on June 29, 2023, at Ontario Avita Hospital.

She was born May 28, 1929, in Crestline, Ohio, to the late William Henry and Iva Gertrude (Stout) Scheiber.

Joan was a 1947 graduate of Crestline High School. After high school, Joan worked for many years at Beck's Bakery before being employed with Sweeneys in Mansfield. She later retired in 2011 after 29 years. In her free time, she enjoyed baking pies, coloring, reading, playing cards and watching the Golden Girls and Cleveland Indians on TV.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Laura (Larry) Horning of Crestline and Linda Gehrisch of Mount Vernon; 4 grandchildren, Richard Moyer, Jackie Neuerer, Nathan Horning and Christina Horning, 7 great-grandchildren Rachel, Ryan and Jessica Neuerer, Jonathan and Chris Moyer and Grace and George Horning.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, James Scheiber; her sister, Irene Sheehan; brother-in-law, Robert Sheehan and sister-in-law, Lolita Scheiber.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday July 8th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Pastor Diana Seaman will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made Trinity Lutheran Church or a Cerebral Palsy organization of your choice, in care of the funeral home.
