John F. Clay was a loving father, son, and brother to his family. He loved his many friends as well. He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the age of 50 - leaving us heartbroken.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lisa Clay.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Marie Clay; his parents, Frank and Alice Clay; his sister, Bobbie Clay-Dudash and brother-in-law, Bradley Dudash; brothers, Frank and Chuck; many nieces, nephews, close friends and his one true love, Megan Purks.
John attended Groveport Madison High School in 1989-90. He was employed as a Journeyman by the Sheet Metal Workers at Local 24. In addition he was a referee for OHSAA Football games and a coach for Groveport Madison Senior Jets. His spare time was spent being a championship bowler and most important, being an avid fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. He was a loud member of "Buckeye Nation" and "Raider Nation for Life".
Plans are being made for a memorial event in Columbus in the next few weeks. Place and date will be announced soon.
