Karen Jean Simmons, 73 of Ontario, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
Karen was born on September 27, 1949, in Galion, Ohio to the late George "Henry" and Ruth (Jacoby) Ness.
Karen was a graduate of Northmor High School, Class of 1968. After high school she went on to attend the Mansfield Beauty College. Karen was a professional grandma but was also the owner and operator of T.K.'s and later worked for OhioHealth as a secretary in the laboratory, in which she would later retire. Karen loved her family unconditionally and cherished each moment she spent with them. Karen always put her children and grandchildren first.
Karen was a member of Crossroads Church, Park Ave. Campus. She looked forward to attending church every Sunday with her brother Keith and sharing her love of Jesus. Karen was known for her kind and giving spirit. She loved taking trips to the Amish Country with her friends and family. Karen also enjoyed crafting, baking and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Left to cherish Karen's memories are her sons; Scott (Karriann) Simmons of Columbus; Chad (Susan) Simmons of Columbus; and John (Nicole) Simmons of Ashland; seven grandchildren; Sam, Lexi, Allie, Rachel and Hannah Simmons, all of Columbus, Olivia Simmons of Shelby and Sarah Simmons of Toledo; her siblings; Larry (Susan) Ness of Mansfield and Keith "Skeeter" Ness of Galion.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Diana Ness.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. The service will be immediately following with family friend, Jack Kegley officiating.
