Kenneth James Baker, 79, of Galion passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at The Carlisle Place in Bucyrus. He was born on March 22, 1941 to the late Paul and Elesha (Baker) in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
On March 15, 1986 he married Deanna Haynes and preceded him in death on February 20, 2021.
After high school, Kenneth went on to study at California State in Pennsylvania. He worked in Maintenance at PPG for many years until he retired in 2002. Kenneth was a carpenter and enjoyed woodcarving. He loved spending his free time fishing. Kenneth was a proud grandpa, who found joy in spoiling his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Kenneth's memories are his five children; Tamra (Verlon) Dowell of Galion, James (Shannon) Baker of Lexington, Cynthia (Steve) Bowlin of Galion, Ken Baker (Pete McElearney) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tonya (Bryan) Yeater of Lexington; his brother Russell (Lena) Baker of Elizabethtown, PA; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Kenneth is preceded in death by his son, Brian Harris and an infant sister.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The service will be immediately following with Pastor Jack Kegley officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
