Lawrence Craig Mitchell

Lawrence "Larry" Craig Mitchell, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at his residence in Crestline.

Larry was born in Columbus on May 9, 1942, to the late Shelton and Mary (Buck) Mitchell. He married Pat (Staley) Mitchell in 1964.

In his younger years, Larry enjoyed building and collecting race cars. As he grew older, Larry loved attending the Sprint car races. He was an active member of the Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline, where he took part in the consistory and helped with the church maintenance. As his children were growing up, Larry spent time with them camping and fishing. Larry was the superintendent of the sanitation department of The Ohio State University.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert (Katelyn) Mitchell, Crestline; his daughter, Catherine (Edward) Gee, Crestline; six grandchildren; Andrew (Jessica)  Johnston, Jacquie McClintock, Katie (Levi) Stone, Dustin McClintock; Kristina Gee; Briley Neal; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline with Pastor Larry Ford officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crestline Food Pantry or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
