Leona B. Cole

Leona B. Cole, Age 95 of Bellville, OH, former Crestline OH resident died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at home. She was born on Jan. 10, 1923, along with her twin sister Lenora (Beach) Long. In addition to her parents Charles and Stella (Shafer)Beach, she was preceded in death by her son Michael & husband Kenneth Cole, two sisters Gladys Fisher and twin sister Lenora B. Long, nieces, Carol Wick and gt. niece, Mallory Long.
Leona & Kenny were married April 29, 1944 (68 yrs). They started their married life on the farm on St Rt 598, Crestline, OH. After 10 years of marriage they were blessed with their son, Michael, who preceded both of them in death.
Leona worked at North Electric Co. in Galion, OH and went on to get her real estate license. She worked for Fred Barr Reality & eventually she & her husband formed Ken Cole Real Estate, for 30 years. In addition with her duties, she was a loving mother & wife. She loved to lay in the sun, playing cards. Leona was an immaculate housekeeper & folks were always welcome at their home with a big smile from her. She also loved cats & enjoyed watching them play.
Leona is survived by: Brenda & (Ed) Gordon, MI, Terry & (Michelle) Long, Columbus, OH, Doug & (Debbie) Hart, Mansfield, OH, Debbie & (Jeff) Benson, Fredericktown, OH, Christine & (Michael) Ruckman, MI, Gordon & (Carol) Hart, Fredericktown, OH, Nick & (Rachel) Stapelman, Lucas, OH, Aaron & (Carol) Wenger, MN, Aden & Saloma Yoder, PA caregivers, Lisa (Ellenberger) Keller, friend since 1982 who eventually became her caregiver, with whom she lived with since 2014.
Leone was a lifetime member of First English Lutheran Church of Crestline. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church when they merged. She was a member of the friendship Sunday School class.
Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 N. Thoman St., Crestline where funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
