Leona Ardella (Pollock) Hoffman

Leona Ardella Hoffman, 96, passed away on April 11, 2022, at Galion Pointe Nursing Home.

Leona was born in Mansfield, Ohio on July 6, 1925, to the late Elmer and Millie (Simmons) Pollock. She married Harl Hoffman on August 1, 1942, in Newport, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2008.

After attending Crestline High School, Leona worked at Crestline Hospital in housekeeping for 33 years until retirement. Leona attended Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ, Galion and was a member of both Galion and Crestline Golden Age Club. Leona's main goal in life was to make people happy. She was an avid crafter and she also enjoyed playing bingo every Monday and Friday at Galion Pointe Nursing Home. In her younger days, Leona enjoyed traveling with her husband and creating memories together. As their family grew, time spent with the grandchildren and great grandchildren was very precious, especially baking and decorating Christmas cookies together. Family meant everything to Leona and each one was loved.

Leona is survived by her two sons; LeRoy (Angie) Hoffman of Leesville and David (Linda) Hoffman of Crestline; two siblings; Pat Nesbitt of Mt. Gilead and Leonard Pollock of Galion; daughter-in-law; Jane Hoffman of Galion; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Leona was preceded in death by her two sons; William Hoffman and Alan Hoffman, and two siblings; Wilbur Pollock, and Neva Phelps.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 223 West Main Street, Crestline, Ohio. The funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Loyd and Dreama Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
