Linda Joyce Switzer, 75, of Galion passed away on December 24, 2020 at Galion Community Hospital.
Linda was born in Madison, WV on February 28, 1945 to the late Ernest “Jim” Barker and Ella (Gore) Pauley. While working at Tom Boys Drive-In she met Donald Switzer and on July 18, 1964 they were married, and he survives in Galion.
Linda was a 1963 graduate of Danville Scott High School in W. Va. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Galion. Linda had been a Girl Scout Leader for her daughters while they were growing up. She was an avid reader, liked solving crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with her husband Donald. Her most precious time was spent with her favorite granddaughter, Rachelle.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by two daughters; Kim (Andy) Lauer of Galion, and Kathi Switzer of Galion, and one granddaughter; Rachelle Mauritz of Galion.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sisters Beverly Barker, Jean Stumpf, and Dee Barbree.
Friends may call on Tuesday Dec. 29, 2020 from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North in Galion. Linda’s burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
