Obituary

M. Louann Metzger, 82, of Shelby, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her home.

Louann was a graduate of the Vincentian High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Class of 1953. She was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Bethlehem. A proud talent of Louann's was playing the organ for Sacred Heart Church masses and giving private piano lessons. Louann was very active in the Daughters of Isabella International, MSC Auxiliary. Louann was an avid reader and loved to do word search puzzles whenever she had a free minute. Cross stitching was another talent of Louann's where she created many beautiful items. She loved her monthly card games and looked forward to being with her card group. She was also a member of an investment club. Louann had many interests and loves in her life, but her pride and joy was being able to spend time with all her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Barbara and Dr. George Carroll of Winter Park, Florida, Anne Cooper of Blountville, Tennessee, Mary Ellen Metzger and Aaron Schroeder of Shelby, Jennifer and Dominick Sorrent of Wadsworth, Eric and Crystal Metzger of Crestline; grandchildren, Caleb and Alyssa Cooper, Dane Cooper, Sage Schroeder, Celeste Schroeder, Xavier Sorrent, Madeline Sorrent, Jacob (Yasha) Carroll, Aleksander (Alex) Carroll, Carley Sorrent, Augustine (Gus) Sorrent, Evan Metzger, and Noah Metzger; one great-grandson, Eli Cooper; siblings, Phyllis Hammond of Sun City, Arizona, Linus (Butch) and Betty Hoke of Mansfield.

In addition to her husband Carl, she is preceded in death by a son, Derek Metzger, who passed away in 1993; and a brother, J. Harold and Mary Louise Hoke.
