It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marian "Jean" Beck, a beloved member of the community of Crestline. She was born on June 11, 1926, in Crestline, to the late Charles and Frances (Shoup) Boals. She married Donald E. Beck on June 30, 1946, and he survives her. Jean lived a life full of love and memories, touching the hearts of all those she met. She passed away on November 4, 2024, at her home in Crestline.
Jean was an active member of First English Lutheran Church in Crestline, until its closure, where she dedicated her time to the Altar Guild, Church Choir, and Lutheran Women's group. She was also a proud member of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority. Jean found joy in playing bridge, participating in bowling leagues, and showcasing her culinary skills through cooking and baking. She had a passion for decorating her home and traveling the world with her husband, especially enjoying cruises and attending football games at The Ohio State University and at Hutson Stadium in Crestline.
Together with her husband, Jean owned and operated Beck's Bakery in Crestline from 1966 to 1972, where she shared her delicious baked goods with the community.
Her legacy of warmth, generosity, and dedication will always be treasured by her surviving family members: her loving husband, Donald Beck, sons Rich (Linda) Beck of Olathe, Kansas, and Tim Beck of Dallas, Texas, her grandchildren Jake Beck, Jason (Jaclyn Hupp) Beck, Carli Monroe, and Abby Beck, and her great-grandchildren, Adriana McConnaughy, Quinny Monroe, Grant Beck, and Olivia Beck.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother John Boals, and daughter-in-law, Paula Beck.
