Marjorie Ann (Swarer) Swarer

Marjorie A. Swarer, 77, of Crestline passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home in Galion after a brief illness.

Marge was born in Crestline, Ohio on January 13, 1943 to the late John “Red” and Mary (McKean) Swarer.

Marge was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and helped with the funeral lunches and fish fry’s. Marge was a graduate of Crestline High School, Class of 1961 and received her BSED from Ohio University, Athens in 1965. She was a member of the Alumni Association at Ohio University. She taught second-grade her entire 30 year teaching career at Crestline Schools, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed staying in touch with the group of southeast school friends. Marge kept football stats for Crestline High School from 1969-1994, 24 years. She enjoyed attending high school and college sporting events. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Always on the go, Marge hated to be still. Her favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. Marge belonged to two golf leagues at Valley View Golf Course, the Wednesday morning ladies league and the Thursday evening “on our own” league. Every golfers dream is to have a hole-in-one and Marge fulfilled that dream on the 16th hole at Valley View.

Marge is survived by her adopted family, Jim and Norma Glauer and their children; cousins, Brenda (Ron McDonald, Jr.) McKean, Mansfield, and Dr. William Hoffman, Portland, Oregon; her golf buddies and her church family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline at a future date. This date will be announced on our website.
