Mary Ann Armstrong, 89, of Crestline passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
She was born in Crestline on April 19, 1931 to the late Ralph and Connie (Dolce) Lillo, Sr. On June 26, 1948, Mary married Robert Armstrong and he proceeded her in death in April of 2006.
Mary was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline where she was always willing to lend a helping hand cooking various meals. She loved her travels to Lake Erie, particularly Wilson’s Beach. Mary was known to stop at and pick over any garage sale in sight. A family woman, she cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren. On Sunday’s for family dinners, Mary would make spaghetti and meatballs with her famous homemade sauce. Whenever someone had a birthday in the family, Mary would always make sure to call and sing Happy Birthday to them.
Left to cherish Mary’s memories are her four children; Connie Huml of Crestline, Tony Armstrong of Lexington, Juanita Armstrong of Crestline, and Marcia (Jon) Roberts of Mansfield; sister, Irene Elmore of Pheonix, AZ; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren with two on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by six siblings; Tony Lillo, Ralph Lillo, Julia Duncan, Joe Lillo, Theresa Martinez, and Helen Grenier; son-in-law; Jeff Huml, and two grandchildren; Ashley Roberts and Justin Armstrong.
Friends may call on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 223 W. Main St. Crestline, Ohio, where the funeral service will be immediately following. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
In accordance with the Governor’s mandate, masks will now be required to enter the funeral home.
