Mary Elizabeth Hoffman, 79, of Crestline, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Avita Galion Community Hospital.
Mary was born in Detroit, MI on July 31, 1941, to the late Michael and Helen (Stanovich) Vuich. She married Thomas J. Hoffman on April 15, 1983, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2020.
Mary was a Crestline High School graduate, Class of 1959. Mary enjoyed reading and keeping up with her friends. She was a beautiful Christian woman and was always there to help others in need around town. She loved animals and cherished spending time with family. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline.
Left to cherish her memories are her four children; Lori Croft of Gainesville, FL; Michael Croft of Columbus; Todd Hoffman of Crestline; Ty (Rita Weise) Hoffman of Phoenix, AZ; five siblings; Ann (Doug) George of Beach Grove, IN; Tom Vuich of Crestline; Nick (Marie) Vuich of Crestline; Evelyn Vuich of Crestline; John Vuich of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren; Luke (Olivia) Hoffman; Zach Abolverdi; Alex Abolverdi; Foster Abolverdi; Jack Hopkins; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea "Sweet Pea" Hopkins; her grandson, Caine Hoffman, her sister, Linda Vuich, and her daughter-in-law, Laurie Hoffman.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 331 North Thoman St., Crestline with Fr. Jeff Smith, Celebrant, and Fr. Gary Walters, Co-Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
