Michael A. Henderson, 34, of Dickson, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 7, 2021. He was born in Mansfield on September 14, 1986, to James R. Henderson and Jean M. (Henderson) Sheets. Both parents reside in Mansfield.
Michael was an alumnus of St. Peter's Catholic School and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. He served his country honorably as a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Michael was an avid reader and enjoyed playing video games. Growing up, Michael loved being involved in the Young Marines, retiring as a Sgt. Major. His time spent in the Marines was filled with many blissful memories and travelling adventures. He currently worked at Allied Universal. Michael was a huge outdoor enthusiast who loved camping. When not working, he was travelling to various vacation destinations. He also loved to attend concerts and was more than happy to drive to each venue. He was a huge history buff and loved reading about it. Michael had a huge heart and was always willing to help others.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his stepfather; Terry Sheets of Mansfield; stepmother; Terry Henderson of Mansfield; paternal grandfather; Monty Henderson of Ashland, KY.; siblings; Justin Henderson of Malden, MA., Andrew (Desiree Johns) Henderson of Mansfield, Emily-Sue Henderson of Mansfield; James (Amber) Parmer of Crestline; many nieces and nephews and a plethora of family and friends throughout the United States.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Mary Ann Newhon, and grandmother, Helen Sue Beitzel.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline, with Father Kevin Moebius, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline, where military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps. alongside the Crestline-Galion Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
