Michael Joseph Mercurio

Michael Joseph Mercurio, 64, of Galion passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Galion Avita Hospital. Michael was born in Galion on May 17, 1959, to the late parents of Harold Jr. and Doris (Eckenrode) Mercurio.

Michael worked in Construction most of his life. He had many interests that included his favorite of being outside sitting on his porch. He enjoyed guns, fishing, and cookouts while being outside. When inside Michael's interests were game shows and dancing.

Michael is survived by his 5 children; Diana (Bob Gilbert) Mercurio of Bellville, Stephanie (Doug) Jacobs of Columbus, Jake Mercurio of Galion, Cory (Jessica) Mercurio of Galion, and Crystal Sackman of North Carolina; 12 Grandchildren and 1 on the way; his siblings, Stephanie Castle of Galion, Sue (Steve) Hart of Galion, and Patrick (Connie) Mercurio of Lorain.

Along with Michaels parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Mercurio.

Friends may call on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm where Pastor Rodney Noblit will aid the family in services for Michael with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
