Michael James Smock, 51, of Galion passed unexpectedly on February 17, 2025, at Avita Health System - Galion Community Hospital.
Mike was born on January 22, 1974, to the late James Smock and Ruby (Johns) Lightfoot. He would be raised by his mother and step-father, Joe Lightfoot, Sr. Mike graduated from Colonel Crawford class of 1992, receiving his certificate in Auto Body from Pioneer Career and Technology Center.
A man who was always ahead of the curve when it came to technology, Mike was always tinkering on computers or diving deep into the latest gaming obsession. Mike had an unmatched passion for all things digital, he could lose himself for hours in a game.
But Mike was not just about computers and screens. His curiosity knew no bounds. He was always up for a round of random trivia, sharing quirky facts that never failed to make us laugh or think. His interests ranged far and wide, from his deep appreciation of guns to his love for animals and cars.
Michael's memories will be cherished by his brothers: Rodney (Kathy) Smock of Oceola, Randy Smock of Crestline, and Joe Lightfoot, Jr., of Crestline; step-father: Joe Lightfoot, Sr.; and step-siblings: Sue Uzenoff of South Bend, IN., and Eric Lightfoot of Morehead, KY.
