Mildred Mae (Spangler) Simmermacher

February 26, 1929 ~ January 11, 2022 (age 92) 92 Years Old


Mildred "Millie" Mae Simmermacher, 92, of Crestline, passed away on January 11, 2022, at Avita Ontario Hospital.

Millie was born in Crestline, on February 26, 1929, to the late Albert and Edith (Danals) Spangler. She married Donald W. Simmermacher on March 30, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2008.

Millie lived in Crestline all her life and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. After forty years of employment, she retired in 1994 from the former Geauga Plastics in Crestline. Millie was a member of the American Legion Post 444 Auxiliary in Crestline. She enjoyed playing bingo, scratch off lottery tickets, puzzles, and word searches. Millie also enjoyed crocheting and was well known for her homemade caramels. Millie cherished her time spent with her family and grandkids. She loved choosing and giving gifts to her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tim (Pat) Simmermacher, Crestline; her grandchildren, Todd (Stephanie) Simmermacher, Tracy (Bob) Sayre, Tammi (Myles) Creed, Melissa (Mark) Vogt, Zach (Joy Clark) Simmermacher, and her grandson-in-law, Shawn Fry; ten great-grandchildren, Rachel (Nathan), Natalie (Jordan), Sam, Noah, Myla, Lena, Chloe, Anna, Michael and Weston; step great-grandchild, Kyle (Kelsey); great-great-grandchildren, Hazel and Brynlee; step great-great-grandchildren, Ava, Luke, Addy, Liam; and special niece, Judy Rudd.

In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Simmermacher, granddaughter, Abby Fry, her four sisters, Mercedis DeGray, Edith Klahn, Margaret Stump, Marie Brown, and her two brothers, Jack Spangler and Charles Spangler.

Private family visitation and services will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline, in care of the funeral home.
