Miriam Ellen Anderson

Miriam E. Anderson, 72, of Louisville, KY passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Louisville, KY on Monday, May 27, 2019.

Miriam was born in Crestline, on July 16, 1946, to the late Russell and Florence Hye. She married Joe Anderson of Louisville, KY and he survives her.

Miriam was a member of the Community Hope Baptist Church, KY. She volunteered at Crestline Schools for several years. Miriam owned and operated Head Hunters Beauty Salon in Crestline where she was infamous for being an outstanding hairdresser. She served on the Crestline VFW Auxiliary for several years. Miriam was a person who loved unconditionally and wanted to be loved unconditionally. She was a very artistic person. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, embroidering, cross stitch and doing stain glass art. Miriam was an active member throughout her life in NA. Miriam got her first degree at 60 years old and gave the college commencement speech. She received her second degree at the age of 65, and was awarded the 2012 Inspiration Award from Brown Mackie College, Louisville, KY. Miriam loved to go visit the Biltmore Estate to watch people. Miriam was known for her infectious laugh that earned her free admission to the TV show The Newz.

Miriam is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Reid, Mansfield; five grandchildren, Aaron (Laurel) Buckner, Erica Buckner, Emily Buckner, Nathaniel Reid and Natalie Reid; three great-grandchildren, Alyvia Buckner, Reagan Buckner, and Alexa Buckner.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 W. Main Street, Crestline. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at the funeral home with Deacon William Horning officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
