Patricia Darleen (Mackey) Garverick

Patricia Darleen Garverick, 83, of Galion passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Millcreek Nursing & Rehab after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Patricia was born in Galion on July 31, 1937 to the late George and Lucille (Vaughn) Mackey. She married E. Lloyd Garverick on June 2, 1956 and they spent 63 years happily married. Lloyd preceded Patricia in death on April 14, 2020.

Patricia was a Galion High School graduate and worked at home her entire life as an extraordinary homemaker, where she raised a loving family. She was a longtime member of the Community Christian Church in Galion where she was a member of the Ladies Guild for over 50 years. Throughout the years she would take in several foster children and watched many other children in her home day care, and she taught many of them how to swim. Patricia enjoyed camping and canning the goods Lloyd grew in their home garden. With many members of her family being in law enforcement, Patricia supported them in her many years as a Fraternal Order of Police member. Above all else, Patricia's grandchildren where the light of her life, she absolutely adored every single one of them.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Kemela (Duane) Hartschuh of Bucyrus; her sons, Mark (Marsha) Garverick of Galion, and Bryan (Sharon) Garverick of Mount Gilead; nine grandchildren, Jenifer, Jessica, Samantha Jon, Darrick, Erick, Sarah, Paul, Luke; ten great-grandchildren, Adrian, Heala, Lindsey, Olivia, Brandon, Liam, Teigen, Adrian S., Tyler, Lucas; three great-great-grandchildren, Raylan, Nehemiah, Michael; and her brother, William (Alice) Mackey of Galion.

In addition to her parents and husband Lloyd, Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Mackey.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00am, with Dr. Dan Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
