Robert Allen Grant, 73, of Galion passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born February 24, 1948 in Mansfield to the late John W. and Geraldine L. (Hollinger) Grant.
Robert retired from PPG after 31 years as a Reserve Pool Operator. He enjoyed mowing his yard and others, playing jokes and making people laugh, being in the kitchen and baking, and playing golf. He was fond of going to DK's Dairy Bar for a strawberry-banana milkshake. Robert's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Robert married the love of his life, Paulette, on March 20, 1987 and they shared 34 years together. Additional survivors include his children, Robert (Ranee Dyer) Grant of Galion, Scott (Pam) Grant of Leesville, Barbara (Nick Bell) Hunt of Marion; step-children, Carrie (Dale) Hollister of Aynor, SC., Kimberli Hamilton of Aiken, SC., Angela (Mike) Konkler Jr., of Englewood, and Gary Sanborn Jr. of Galion; siblings, Patricia Smith of Tulsa, OK., and Paul (Nancy Wyatt) Grant of Mansfield; 36 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Betty Ruth Grant.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Trinity Gospel Tabernacle, 326 First Avenue in Galion with Pastor Rick Cox officiating.
